SQRT
Symbolic and Quantitative Reasoning Test
The SQRT (Symbolic and Quantitative Reasoning Test) is a high-ceiling reasoning assessment consisting of 20 items designed to evaluate abstract mathematical logic, operational synthesis, and symbolic reasoning. Across the assessment, examinees must identify complex progressions, infer custom operator rules, manipulate functional structures, and select the option that best completes the underlying sequence or logical system.
The quantitative items require examinees to recognize underlying rules within numerical sequences and systems. Relationships range from polynomial progressions and interleaved operational series to multi-step functional evaluations. Successful performance requires inferring the governing mathematical logic and executing accurate algebraic computations to deduce the missing value.
The symbolic items require examinees to interpret abstract transformations, custom operator systems, matrix logic, and non-verbal pattern mappings. These items evaluate the ability to isolate structural laws, manage multi-variable operator interactions, and apply logical compositions across non-traditional symbol sets.
By integrating quantitative and symbolic logic into a single progressively scaled assessment—ranging from fundamental sequences to high-ceiling items designed for high-range measurement—the SQRT tests fluid intelligence and abstract problem solving. The assessment emphasizes rule discovery, structural analysis, and deductive reasoning rather than specialized mathematical background.
The test focuses primarily on:
- Quantitative Sequence Analysis
- Symbolic Transformation & Operator Logic
- Polynomial and Interleaved Progression Discovery
- Abstract Function Composition & Systems
- Inductive and Fluid Reasoning
- High-Range Analytical Problem Solving

The SQRT — Symbolic and Quantitative Reasoning Test — is a new test. Only a raw score will be issued initially. After the norm is posted, an IQ score will be added to all prior submissions.
